By Train
Matsushima Ichinobo is approximately 15 minutes by foot from Matsushima Station on the JR Tōhoku Main Line. Or take the Matsushima City Loop Bus (¥100) that leaves every 11 and 41 minutes on the hour from Matsushima Station and takes about 6 minutes to get to Matsushima Ichinobo.

Alternatively, Matsushima Ichinobo is approximately 30 minutes by foot from Matsushima-Kaigan Station on the JR Senseki Line. Or take the Matsushima City Loop Bus (¥100) that leaves every 14 and 44 minutes on the hour from Matsushima-Kaigan Station and takes about 17 minutes to get to Matsushima Ichinobo.
By Car
* Via the Tohoku Expressway from Aomori
When coming from the direction of Aomori on the Tohoku Expressway, get off at the Taiwa interchange and head towards Matsushima. Go through the Matsushima- Ōsato interchange. When you go over the Takagi-gawa River, turn right at the stoplight. It takes about 30 minutes to get to Ichinobo from the Taiwa interchange.

* Via the Tohoku Expressway from Tokyo
When coming from the direction of Tokyo on the Tohoku Expressway, get off at the Sendai-Minami interchange and then get on the connecting road that enters the Sendai-Nanbu Road. After a while, you will see the crossroad with the Sendai-Tōbu Road. Take the left and head towards Ishinomaki.
This road is connected to the Sanriku Expressway, so get off at the Matsushima-Kaigan interchange. Turn right at the traffic light facing the exit and head towards Matsushima-Kaigan. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Ichinobo from the Sendai-Minami interchange.

Water Garden
Matsushima Ichinobo's approximately 23,000 square meter water garden features flowering plants that bloom all year round, Matushima's famous pine trees, and a large pond that seems to meld with Matushima Bay. The garden is also home to a chapel with stained glass that was overseen by artist Kyōhei Fujita.
